Building a Foundation for Newark's Future
In September 2010, the Foundation for Newark's Future was established. The Foundation is charged with leveraging $200 million of philanthropy to improve educational outcomes for all of Newark's public school children.
Created the Newark Charter School Fund
In partnership with local foundations committed to public education, Mayor Booker and a coalition of leaders created a $20 million fund to improve and expand high quality Newark charter schools. The Newark Charter School Fund is a unique coalition of local and national philanthropists dedicated to expanding high-quality public charter schools throughout the City.
